The New Ham is faced with many decisions to actually get on the air.
We will cover many different topics to assist the new and "older" ham
learn about
new modes, antennas, selecting repeaters, which frequency is a could good one to reach
a desired area
Question and Answer Session, little tidbits of info that could take years to
learn that could greatly enhance
your hobby.
We are
holding in the tradition of Amateur Radio - ELMER classes. A no pressure
learning environment
with hands on time and demostrations of equipment, modes, on-air operating
skills etc.
Young and old are welcomed, no charge
Come be a part and learn something new about the best hobby in the world.
The
classes will be held Saturday May 17th 2008 at the
South Carolina Forestry Commission Office
on Hwy 52 in Florence (next to Florence Darlington College). Classes
start at 9am and end at Non.
Talk-in will be on the 146.850 repeater in Florence, on two meters.
Directions: Exit 1-95 at the 164 exit, travel toward Darlington (west) for
approx 2 miles to
Florence Darlington Technical College on your right. SC Forestry is right
past the College.
From North of Darlington: Take Hwy 52 South to Darlington, then toward
Florence. The SC Forestry
will be just before Florence Darlington Technical College on your left
From South of Florence: Travel to Hwy 52 toward Darlington then use directions above from I-95
There
will be something for all hams, regardless of your
length in the hobby.
